Well, this is my home state. There are hundreds of fantastic places to eat, hang out and have fun. These are just a few of my favorites.
Twin Oaks Restaurant
100 Sabre Street
Cranston, RI
Tel: 401-781-9693
URL: http://www.twinoaksrestaurant.com/main.html
Legends abound about this family operated local restaurant. Despite a menu which is second to none, and a wait staff which is not
allowed to write-down your order (and they always get everything just right) the Black Angus Steak and the baked-stuffed shrimp are
2 things which I'll only order here (because no one can make them like Twin Oaks)!
Café Romanzo
495 Washington Street (Rte 117)
Coventry, RI 02816
Tel: 401-821-8720
Although a tad off the beaten path, Chef Kevin Duffney has created an Italian restaurant with a menu and wine list that tempts the palate.
Their private upstairs dining room is an excellent place to host business guests (which I have done a few times). The first floor dining room,
or rear bar and dining room are excellent for both formal or casual dining.
Chelo's At the Waterfront
Masthead Drive
East Greenwich, RI
Tel: 401-884-3000
URL: http://www.chelos.com
Eat inside, sit out on the dock, or up on the balcony. Voted RI's best chowder!!
Harbourside Lobstermania
Water & Queen Streets
East Greenwich, RI
Tel: 401-884-6363
Bring your boat, bring your car,..... great seafood! What did you expect from the Ocean State!
Meritage
5454 Post Road
East Greenwich, RI 02818
Tel: 401-884-1255
A great menu, a phenomenal bar and an excellent place to meet friends after work. The wine list is something to tell everyone about!
Paragon
1149 Division Street
East Greenwich, RI 02818
Tel: 401- 885-3900
URL: http://www.vivaparagon.com/index.html
An extensive menu, wonderful ambience, and as always (one of my prerequisites) an extensive wine list. The rack of lamb is out of this world!
Twenty Water Street
20 Water St.
East Greenwich, RI
Tel: 401-885-3700
Classy, just real classy, and they let you in even if you just came off a boat.
Trinity BrewHouse
186 Fountain St.
Providence, RI
Tel: 401-453-2337
URL: http://www.trinitybrewhouse.com/
Nothing can truly define this place. It is like the old "Met Café" but with real food and a sense of class which we all deserved, but could never afford.
If you grew up in the 60's, this is the place to call home. They make great beer as well. My favorite is the Russian stout.
The Hyatt Regency
1 Goat Island
Newport RI 02840 USA
Tel: 401-851-1234
URL: http://www.hyatt.com/usa/newport/hotels/hotel_rinew.html
Close to everything in Newport and right on the harbor. I love this hotel, and the staff great.
The Mooring Restaurant
At the Newport Yachting Center, Sayer's Wharf
(off of America's Cup Avenue)
Newport, RI
Tel: 401-846-2260
URL: http://www.mooringrestaurant.com
Great location, great food, great wine!! Check out the menu "online."
Atwood Grill
1910 Post Road (next to the airport)
Warwick, RI 02886
Tel: 401-223-0300 / 401-223-0301
A great place for lunch, dinner, or just to hang out at the bar. This recently renovated establishment is fortunate to have the owners of the
Atwood Grill as their new owners! Selections specialize in fine Italian cuisine, but there are some simple meals as well as a great selection of
pasta and appetizers. The wine list, although not too extensive, features only great wines to compliment your meal. The amazing thing
about this place, is you will not believe how large the portions are and how reasonable the prices are. You could eat here every day of the
week and not blow your budget! There's also an Atwood Grill in Johnston, but I haven't been there yet.
Chelo's of Warwick
2225 Post Road (next to the airport)
Warwick, RI 02886
Tel: 401-737-7299
URL: http://www.chelos.com
A great restaurant with a great rectangular bar where you can sit and watch the best in sports on the 8 different TV's. You can always find me
here when the New England Patriots or Boston College football games are being played.
Legal Sea Foods, Inc.
2099 Post Road
Warwick, RI 02886
Tel: 401-732-3663
URL: http://www.legalseafoods.com
You can't live in New England and not like seafood. This chain of restaurants provides an overwhelming choice of seafoods which are always
cooked to perfection. Their daily specials will make your mouth water. The wine selection is an excellent compliment to any choice from the
menu.
LongHorn Steaks of Warwick
400 Bald Hill Road (at the Warwick Mall)
Warwick, RI 02886
Tel: 401-737-6943
An excellent steak house! Their surf and turf is cooked to perfection.
